Parks and Gardens : La Alquería del Pilar park🐾
At the beginning of the 1980s, this Municipal Park was inaugurated, officially named La Alqueria del Pilar in memory of the name of one of the two estates that make up this space. We are referring to one of the most emblematic eclectic-style ensembles Casa-Palacete, together with other architectural and landscape caprices property of the marriage of poets and patrons of the arts of Seville, José Lamarque de Novoa and Antonia Díaz that already in the last third of the 19th century they built a true paradise, of great beauty and such a halo of intellectuality that it earned the nickname of the Versailles of Seville.
To this property would be added the vegetable gardens neighbouring countries of origin of the Ybarra family, including the Huerta San Luis and, the Huerta San José o House of Culture,This has created an orchard of more than 13 hectares. The many species of trees are surprisingly interesting both for their botanical value and antiquity and for the fact that they are arranged in a design attributed to the French landscape architect Forestier. It is completed with spaces for bird and fish watching as well as children's playgrounds and circuits and tracks for sports practice. Likewise, advantage was taken of the quarry separating the two properties in order to convert it into a Auditorium of great importance and reference at provincial level, where magnificent shows are held.
