Door day abiertas OVERWINTERING: ANOTHER LIFE IN THE LAGOON
On Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. onwards, the Fuente del Rey Lagoon will host an open day with free activities for all ages, including guided tours, workshops and birdwatching, with the aim of publicising its attractions as a nature tourism destination.
A free event with no need to book in advance, with activities for all the family, and an ambiguous area.
Among the most representative birds are the mallard duckthe common cootthe little grebethe common snipethe European robin or the common gnatcatcher, along with other transient species that use the lagoon as a way station during their migrations.
Sustainable tourism and activities for the whole family
Throughout the day, the following will be offered free activities for all audiences, The activities are aimed at enjoying and learning about the natural life of the lagoon:
- Reception and welcome, with gifts for the families, among them a bird guide and a waterfowl poster.
- Attention at the observatories, where visitors will be able to use telescopes and binoculars with the help of specialised guides to identify the species present.
- Nest-box assembly workshop, designed for families who will be able to build their own nesting box screen-printed with the Laguna logo.
- Wintering birds dice game, a fun activity for children to learn about and colour in the most representative species of the Fuente del Rey Lagoon.
- “What do birds eat in winter?”, an interpretative walk through the environment to discover the natural feeding of migratory birds.
- “We catch food in the mud”.”, a game of dexterity that simulates how waders forage for food.
- Wintering birds mural, The participants will be able to paint and place their own representations of the species that live in the Fuente del Rey Lagoon.
