The chapel suffered significant damage when the P\u00f3lvora mills built nearby in the first third of the 17th century exploded, and was rebuilt in 1677. At the request of the famous writer <em>\"Fern\u00e1n Caballero<\/em> and the patronage of the <em>Dukes of Montpensier<\/em> was rebuilt in 1859.<\/p>\n<p>It has a single nave with a coffered gabled roof and its fa\u00e7ade is crowned by a belfry-belfry under which there is a Mudejar sprouting window formed by two horseshoe arches. Inside, the rococo altarpiece dating from 1788 stands out, from whose chapel presides over the devout image of the Virgin. <em><strong>every third Sunday in October<\/strong><\/em>. Mention the <strong>Pilgrimage of Valme<\/strong>in honour of the Virgin herself, <em>protector of the city of Dos Hermanas and patron saint of the town council.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The feast consists of the transfer of the image from the <strong>parish church of Santa Mar\u00eda Magdalena<\/strong> from Dos Hermanas to the hermitage of the <strong>Cortijo del Cuarto<\/strong>. This farmhouse is located in the Seville neighbourhood of Bellavista, a territory that belonged to Dos Hermanas until 1937, although the land occupied by the chapel and a small area nearby belong administratively to the city of Dos Hermanas.<\/p>\n<p>It is estimated that every year 200,000 pilgrims accompany the Virgin on her journey, making it one of the most popular pilgrimages in Andalusia after the pilgrimages of the Virgen del Roc\u00edo in Almonte and the Virgen de la Cabeza in And\u00fajar.
